jubilation 57...international women's day

In honor of Women's History Month (today is international women's day), our local arts and culture museum has a very informative and blood boiling exhibit, fraught with heroinic acts in times of horrific beliefs.   We have come a long way..........BUT

We obviously have a long way to go.   Lucky for us XX chromosome carriers, we had suffragettes (this word rubs me the wrong way),  such as Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.  I loved reading how one of these women published a cookbook and crammed it full of ERA sentiment, here and there, in no particular contextual relevence.  I can taste her satisfaction at being able to speak her mind in a world that didn't believe she was capable of having a mind worth speaking.

And today, lucky mother earth has crusaders such as Tim DeChristopher to remind us that we can make a difference through creative and courageous non-violent action.
