costa rica...FAST FORWARD

Today we went  to hell.  Hell is located Punteranus, Costa Rica.  It is a place where it is 100 degrees with 100% humidity.  The air tastes like sweat, garbage, and the dog poop that you have all stepped in.  You will be given incorrect directions, pay to use filthy bathrooms, and slip in your own pools of sweat.

you don't see this in many travel brochures

I don't know what it was about seeing this that broke the camel's back.  We just knew that we couldn't spend 3 hours in this town waiting for the ferry to take us to the Nicoya Peninsula.  We had to get out of here NOW.  I think we were tired of driving and seeing too much too quickly.  We wanted to find somewhere we could stop and take it all in for a while.  We decided to ditch the next leg of our race and fast forward to Manuel Antonio.

The kids didn't think it was so hellish because the cats outnumbered the people.

Puntarenas is the bizarro land equivalent of our favorite town in Idaho, ironically with the same name--Sandpoint.
