more delightful mother-son chats

Me, "Ansel, I noticed that all the other kids kiss or hug their parents when they say good-bye at the school, while you, on the other hand, run away or do a blacktop belly flop when I try to hug you.  Maybe if you let me hug you once in a while, I wouldn't bug you so much."

Ansel.  "Exactly, Mom.  HUGGING EQUALS BUGGING."

a few days earlier

Me.  "If you forget your lunch, would you like me to bring it to you or would you rather go hungry."

Ansel.  "I'd rather go hungry."

Thanks for the chuckle at your expense. I hope he lets you bug him every once in a while. I wonder what a kiss equals.
